Chicken Road began as a passion project in 2017, when three friends—Daniel Chen, Olivia Martinez, and Jason Park—met during a game development hackathon in San Francisco. What started as a 48-hour challenge to create a fun mobile game soon evolved into a full-fledged business venture when their prototype gained unexpected attention from industry professionals attending the event.
Inspired by classic arcade games and the endless runner genre, the team spent the next six months refining their concept while working from Daniel's garage. Their vision was simple yet ambitious: create a mobile game that was easy to learn but difficult to master, with charming characters and addictive gameplay that appealed to players of all ages.
In early 2018, they secured their first round of seed funding from Horizon Ventures, allowing them to expand their team and move into a proper office space in downtown San Francisco. The official beta version of Chicken Road was launched in September 2018, immediately garnering positive reviews for its intuitive controls, colorful graphics, and cleverly designed levels.
The game's official release in March 2019 exceeded all expectations, reaching over one million downloads in its first month. Since then, Chicken Road has grown from a single mobile game to a beloved franchise with multiple spin-offs, merchandise, and even talks of an animated series in development.
Today, our studio employs over 30 talented individuals across game design, development, art, sound, marketing, and community management. We've expanded our portfolio to include five successful mobile titles, with Chicken Road remaining our flagship game and receiving regular updates and new content.
